Dean Corbae

Professor of Finance, Banking and Investments and Professor of Economics

Dean Corbae is a professor in the department of Finance, Investment and Banking at the University of Wisconsin School of Business. He also holds an appointment in the University of Wisconsin Department of Economics.

Previously, Corbae was the Sebastian Centennial Professor of Business Administration at the University of Texas at Austin, and has taught at the University of Iowa as well as the University of Pittsburgh. He has been a visiting professor at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and at Cambridge University. Corbae has also served as a Visiting Scholar at the Federal Reserve Banks of Cleveland, Dallas, Minneapolis and St. Louis.

Corbae’s research has been supported by the National Science Foundation, and his work has been published in Econometrica and the Journal of Political Economy, among others. He is the co-author of "An Introduction to Mathematical Analysis for Economic Theory and Econometrics" published by Princeton University Press.

His research interests include consumer credit and bankruptcy, foreclosures, and banking industry dynamics.

Corbae received his Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Colgate University, and his Ph.D. from Yale University.
