Several improvements to Thailand's flow of funds accounts (FFAs) can be accomplished by acquiring the financial data of the business corporation sector (BINC).   Given such a large number of firms in the country and the fact that each firm’s financial report is different, the Office of National Economic and Social Development Board (NESDB) is acquiring financial data on BINC (10,000 sampled firms) and using reliable estimation methods to derive better estimates of NFC’s flow of funds.

This document presents an analysis of the data of the listed companies to learn about NFC’s financial behaviors and overall trends in the sector between 2008 and 2012. There are 504 firms in our unbalanced panel categorized into 8 industries. We consider 6 items in a firm’s balance sheet, with which we can connect with financial instruments in the FFA. The 6 items are cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable, loan, capital paid-up, and retained earnings.
